This stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is home to the Quantock and Blackdown Hills and the gateway to Exmoor. There are miles of footpaths and bridleways and nature reserves and forest parks.
The area is steeped in history and heritage and Halse makes an ideal base from which to explore many attractions within easy reach for a day out. There are many beautiful historic houses and gardens in the area, including Cothay, Hestercombe and Dunster Castle.
The West Somerset Steam Railway is close to Halse and will provide hours of enjoyment for both old and young enthusiasts.
The Heart of Somerset is home to five golf courses.
